An Unlikely Opening

The opening reception for The Unlikely Naturalist took place on October 13 at Tripolo Gallery in Covington, LA. Here are some photos from the show. I’d say about 2/3 of the collection sold on opening night, including the large fish painting. But there are some really beautiful paintings still available including two of my personal favorites, the Horse and Gator “The Portage” and the canoe with Red Snapper “The Bold Brace”. Thanks to everyone who saw the show in person and online. It was such a beautiful evening! We played with sailor hats and sipped lemongrass cocktails while watching multiple slide shows of photos and video from my road trip. The front windows were sprawling with mementos on the making of this collection and the big fish towered from the skylight in the center of the gallery. I wore the sequin dress from the invitation and a ridiculously fun oversized rhinestone alligator broach. As the day turned into night, the long space filled with a warm crowd of collectors, friends and family. The fountains floated lily pads and people posed for photos in front of the green velvet flanked fish while projections sparkled behind it. I’m so proud of this collection and was delighted with such a successful and fun opening. Thanks for sharing in my journey.
