Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we offer a curated selection of quality fine art prints on paper and canvas. Shop the current selection at AtelierRebouche.com

How can I find out when you will release new work? +

I release a new Collection once a year, and small works at various times throughout the year. The best way to know about new artwork coming out is to sign up for the mailing list and follow me on instagram.

Where do you get your inspiration? +

I draw inspiration from the natural world, and from literature, music, film, science and design. What makes me really excited is when I tap into a theme, almost as if out of nowhere. As I explore that theme or idea in my work, the universe seems to present me with support materials for that theme. Suddenly I find myself reading books and happening upon circumstances that feed that story. And I draw from all those mediums to inform the work I do. It becomes like a scavenger hunt to recognize the easter eggs that the universe has hidden for me in my life. Being an artist is about paying attention. When you are paying attention you receive the gifts of inspiration, imagination and synchronicity.

How many paintings do you make a year? +

It varies from year to year, but on average I make about 50-60 paintings a year ranging from 8” x 10” to 8’ x 10’. I make plein-air paintings throughout the year, as well as commissions and small works that are sprinkled throughout the year. I make a focused body of work each year I call a “Collection”. You can view past Collections here. And Shop currently available small works here. You can explore the catalog of plein air paintings here.

What is the little travel paint set you use? +

I use a travel paint set called a “pochade”. There are many sizes and types available but my favorite is the Guerilla Painter pochade.

Do you have advice for artists just starting out? +

I often have insights that I wish I had known when I was first starting out as an artist. I post these thoughts and insights in a series on the blog I call Dear Young Artists. I hope you will find some comfort and inspiration in these posts. If there’s something you want to ask me specifically, send a message and I will explore it in a future post.

Family Tree FAQs

I’m interested in a Family Tree Painting. How can I get more information? +

The best way to get more information about a Family Tree Painting right now is to sign up for the the waitlist. This does not secure you a spot but it will reserve your interest and I will send you more information when there is availability.

How long is the waitlist for a Family Tree? +

Technically there are over 700 people on the waitlist for a Family Tree. However, many people sign up for information but are not ready to make the commitment to this bespoke collector item. I encourage you to sign the waitlist if you are interested, and depending on your timeline we can discuss more accurate timing for your family’s journey to commission a family tree.

What is the process +

I meet with your family, in your home, and spend 5-7 hours with you hearing your stories and getting to know you. Through a series of questions and prompts, I create a space for you to share the history and philosophies that make up your unique family. I then return to my studio and begin a long process of sketching, writing, researching and painting that eventually results in your unique family tree composition. I don’t share sketches or any work in progress so the end result is a beautiful surprise of the way I have interpreted your story, and captured it for you to cherish for generations to come. The process can take anywhere up to a year from the time you place your deposit, to receiving the painting. Each Family Tree Painting is about 200 hours of work, and the result is a 4’ x 6’ painting made just for you.

What is the price? +

Price is discussed privately when you receive your invitation. This is a 5-figure investment in the realm of luxury heirlooms. The process requires a strong commitment from both the artist and the client and the price reflects both the scarcity and value of this one-of-a-kind artwork. When you are ready to make this type of investment in your family, we can discuss the project scope and payment schedule.

How many do you do a year? +

Due to the time-intensive nature of these large paintings, I am able to do a maximum of five per year.
